The Nokia Lumia 520 is a more affordable Smartphone running on the Windows Phone operating system. It is available on a number of networks and at a range of prices. It has a 1GHZ dual core processor, 512mb RAM, a 4″ touchscreen (800 x 480 Resolution) and a 5 megapixel camera. It has internal storage of 8gb but the operating system takes up about 3gb of that. A micro SD slot allows additional storage of up to 64GB however.
The slate design complements the Windows 8 design perfectly. The Windows OS is also intuitive and incredibly easy to learn and use. Whilst it is a simplistic design, it does look sleek and sophisticated. Windows Media player is supported, making sorting through and listening to your music a breeze. Photography wise the phone is pretty decent, nothing to shout about, but above average. The navigation system can also be used offline when maps are downloaded. Read the rest of this entry »
The BlackBerry A10 is set to arrive this autumn as the new flagship phone of the market. Compared to the Q10 model, the A10 will most definitely not be a budget device but rather replace and downgrade the Q10 and Z10.
Among the future carriers of the A10, only Sprint has been confirmed so far, but other major ones are to follow. The device will be launched in November 2013 and there will be a number of innovative features to come with it. As to the BlackBerry offerings to be included, there isn’t much speculation yet. It is unclear how the A10 could improve what the brand already has to offer, though. The same goes for the software used by BlackBerry. Read the rest of this entry »
The Samsung S4 Zoom has to be a top competitor for the best camera phone of 2013 by far. It’s hard not to get confused when taking a look at Samsung’s hybrid between a Smartphone and a camera. With a 4.8-inch touch screen and 21x lens, the gadget is compact and offers features that you would normally find in a camera and not a Smartphone. Such are the optical stabilization technology, the powerful lens, the larger camera and the unexpected zoom capability. However, these are no hindrance to the call-related functions. However rumors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 are build and looking to be more consistent as time goes by. Here is what we know. These little phone however still out perform a lot of other phones on the market and give you the option of owning the most popular phones at a much lower cost. The HTC one was fantastic, but was too large in the opinion of many users. It was hard to hold and to manage using only one hand. The HTC One Mini was developed to address those complaints. Looking for the best camera phone of 2013 well you may just have found it. Finland’s Nokia hasn’t left the great competition. With Windows-powered phones, distinctive design and a stunning diversity, the brand keeps surprising us. July 2013 brought another enchanting release, one that would carry the biggest back side illuminated sensor even seen in a smartphone.
Nokia Lumia 1020 or the second PureView device means a fantastic camera and so much more. First of all, its PureView sensor has no less than 41MP. This isn’t something new, as the PureView 808 had the same, but the new Nokia phones run on Windows instead of Symbian, which is a significant upgrade. Sony Xperia Z is the latest Smartphone to hit the UK from Sony. This handset combines resistance with high-end manufacturing and is indeed a premium product. No wonder it made reviewers say that Sony has reinvented the phone. This is the biggest phone from Sony so far and we also think its one of their the best.
Launched in January 2013, it was the first smartphone of this year and so far is topping the charts, with its main rivals being HTC One and Sasmung Galaxy S4. The device is dust and water resistant, it has IP57 waterproof protection and a strong design, while being only 7.9mm thick. The resistance rating is met, however, only when the phone body with all ports and flaps are sealed up. Read the rest of this entry »
